The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce that Jones Beach State Park will be offering a series of walks to see wintering seals January through March. A State Park naturalist will lead visitors on an hour and a half leisurely beach walk to an area where up to four species of seals can be observed. Along the way, there will be opportunities to see many winter birds and to explore marine geology. Please dress appropriately and wear comfortable footwear for hiking. Binoculars are recommended. Meet at the Theodore Roosevelt Nature Center at West End Field #1.
Reservations are required and will be accepted beginning two weeks prior to each date. Space is limited. Fee: $4.00 per person (ages 18+), $3.00 for children (ages 3-17), and children under 3 are free (unless otherwise noted). If you are unable to keep your reservation, please call and cancel so that others may have the opportunity to attend. Latecomers will forfeit their reservation.
