The newly named "36th Annual Hampton's Softball Tournament (slow-pitch) in association with the Tom Corrigan Scholarship Fund, will be held at RED CREEK PARK, 100 Old Riverhead Road West, Hampton Bays, LI, NY., 11946. Team Fee is $450. Family Fun Activities are FREE.
Established in 1979, this tournament was orginally called he 'The Oak Tree Inn Hampton's Softball Tournament' started by a group of barenders, staff and bands that worked weekends. They would meet Tuedays and invite customers that were on vacation to join them for a good time.
Thomas F. Corrgan (Ret. N.Y.P.D. Detective & Terrorist Task Force Officer), of East Quogue, formerly of Middle Village Queens, lost his battle with leukemia, July 2011. Monies raised from this event will be given as Athletic Scholarship Awards for qualifying students in both Hampton Bays and Westhampton Beach senior high schools in Tom Corrigan's memory.
Tom's friends, Terry Beglane, Joe Fellingham, Joe Folchetti and John Flood have also coordinated this event to include a 50/50 raffle. Raffle tickets are being sold in Hampton Bays at: Doran's, Skidmore's, Spring & Summer Activities, and the Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce. In Southampton at: Fellingham's Restaurant Sports Bar.
All are invited to attend free of charge! Watch 16+ local & NYC teams compete to raise money for their buddy's cause... The Tom Corrigan Scholarship Fund. Children activities and food concession available on site. This is 'good all American' softball at its best!
