Description

The 38th Annual Shelter Island 10K/5K Run/Walk, a USA track and field certified course, will be held on Saturday, June 17th, 2016 at 5:30 p.m.  Touted as the most scenic course by Runner’s World Magazine, the Shelter Island Run is a fundraising event for East End Charities. This year’s race will welcome former Olympian, four time NYC Marathon winner and four time Boston Marathon winner, Bill Rodgers and Amby Burfoot, Boston Marathon winner and former editor in chief at Runner’s World magazine.  New this year, The Shelter Island Run is part of the Grand Prix Series.  Celebrating three great New York races including the NYPD Memorial Run (May 21, 2017), Shelter Island Run (June 17, 2017) and Cow Harbor (September 16, 2017), the Grand Prix Series will offer prizes for the overall winner in all three races.
