MAY 9, 2015  - Charles B. Wang Center, SUNY Stony Brook,  1-5 pm Free Admission; 4:30 pm, Multi-Cultural Program, Induction and Oath Taking Ceremonies & Presentation of Awards to Distinguished Individuals

The Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, Asian American Advisory Board, Suffolk County Office of Minority Affairs, Wellbrook Foundation, Inc., and  Charles B. Wang Center cordially invites you to the Seventh Annual Asian American and Pacific islander Heritage Month Celebration, established to promote cultural awareness of the Asian Pacific American communities and celebrate the diversity of Long Island’s population, will be held a Charles B Wang Center, SUNY Stony Brook located at 100 Nicolls Road, Stony Brook, New York.

Featured will be lion dance, Taiko Drums, arts and crafts, costumes, dance and corporate displays.  There will be multi-cultural dance and musical performance, open theater, AAAB Youth Orchestra, Presentation of Awards for Distinguished Asian Americans, Induction and Oath Taking and Awarding Ceremonies.  Special recognition In Memory of slain Brooklyn New York City Police Officer "Detective Weijan Liu and His Family".

The Seventh Asian Pacific American Heritage Celebration is organized by Suffolk County Asian American Advisory Board; Suffolk County Office of Minority Affairs; Wellbrook Foundation, Inc.; Charles B Wang Center and is co-sponsored by Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), InvaGen Pharmaceutical, Inc., Suffolk County Police Asian Jade Society, The Center for Chinese Learning at Stony Brook, Middle Island Hyundai in Centereach, BMW of Bay Shore, Sheraton LaGuardia East Hotel and Truth Technologies.

FREE admission to all activities from 1 - 5 PM (rain or shine).  Opening Ceremony starts at 1 pm, Open theater starts at 2:30 PM.  At 1:30 pm, we will be featuring the AAAB Youth Orchestra who will serenade you from Renaissance to the 21st Century and our main feature multi-cultural performance by featured Asian Artist is at 4:30 pm ($10) donation .First come, first served.  Door opens at 4:00 pm.  Please visit our website at www.scaaab.org
