Atelier Art Portfolio Prep for High School & College
For Teens & College Bound Art Students
The Art League of Long Island’s Portfolio Prep Classes are designed to teach, inspire, and prepare serious art students ready to take the next step in higher education. In this program, students will learn classical methods of drawing and painting that will be used to make work that stands out. Students will draw from life and from references, learning how to make strongly convincing, realistic and meaningful work.
Students will be exposed to classical and contemporary art, coming away with far more than what a common atelier or college portfolio prep program typically offers. After gaining insight into the wide spectrum of ideologies within the art world, students will be better prepared to structure their portfolios and artist statements to reflect their own informed beliefs and opinions.
Michelle Palatnik, herself a student of the Atelier method taught by the venerable Jacob Collins of the Water Street Atelier, will provide individualized instruction and help students learn at their own pace. Michelle will help you submit a first-class portfolio to wow the college of your choice.
