Description

Workshop Leaders: Andrea Cote and son Nathaniel, age 9—Artists and Educators

Andrea and Nathaniel’s workshops—The Art of Science—encourage curiosity and creativity and are for young artists and naturalists who like to experiment. In this, the first of two Art of Science Workshops (the second will be held on August 26—Drawing with Nature), children, with their adult companions, will mix and grind their own paints using natural pigments while learning about the history and science of paint-making. Then participants will use their new handmade paints to paint pictures of animals and landscapes. This is an unusual opportunity for children to learn about the relationship between art and science and how to use natural materials for art-making.

Advance reservations are required for all events. For more information, reservations, and directions to meeting places, please call: (631) 537-9735.
