Discussion with Author Jamie Ann Colangelo

Jamie Ann Colangelo, author, From The Father’s Heart, to speak at “Achieving the Dream” July 28, Samantha’s Lil Bit of Heaven East Northport, NY

EAST NORTHPORT, N.Y., July 19, 2016: Battling cancer may not seem like the ideal time to put together an inspirational book of gratitude, poetry and love, but for Kings Park author, Jamie Colangelo, timing really was everything.

“I signed on to do the book a week before I found out I had cancer,” explained Colangelo. “I was excited to start putting the book together but then suddenly there was a tsunami of difficult events that completely turned my life upside down. Looking back now, if I had known then the kind of difficulties I would encounter, I would never have signed on to compile the book in the first place. But despite everything that was happening, the Lord kept me in perfect peace and I never missed a deadline during the entire process,” added Colangelo.

A former CPA before health struggles forced her to leave her job, Colangelo’s true inner joy has been writing inspirational poetry and giving it to friends and relatives along with innovative gifts that she creates.  Her gifts were so well received, Colangelo was encouraged by many to turn her ideas and poetry into a book for all to enjoy.

In October 2015, Colangelo decided to take the plunge and turn the dream of creating her inspirational book into a reality, and signed on with Xulon Press, a subsidiary of Salem Media Group, only to receive news a week later she had been diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. Two surgeries and several radiation treatments later, Colangelo not only has a book to her credit, but continues to motivate and inspire others with the story of her journey, her faith and her perseverance.

Colangelo’s book, From the Father’s Heart, is a collection of original poetry presented with biblical scriptures and gift ideas to show love and appreciation for special relationships and to celebrate special occasions. Released in April 2016 by Xulon Press, the book, which can be considered both an inspirational and how-to gifting guide, retails for $11, and is available on Amazon.com, Barnesandnoble.com. and Xulonpress.com.

To celebrate Colangelo’s book and journey, the public is invited to Samantha’s Li’l Bit of Heaven Ministries, 287 Larkfield Road, East Northport, NY, on July 28 at 7PM for a book signing, entitled, “Achieving the Dream” with special musical guest, Karen Orlando. Admission is free and Colangelo’s books will be available for sale.

“I think it’s a testimony that in the midst of someone’s greatest trial in life, there would come such an amazing triumph,” stated Samantha Tetro, founder of Samantha’s Li’l Bit of Heaven Ministries in East Northport. “It’s a great faith builder for others to see that at what seemed to be the lowest point of a person’s life was the very moment a dream came to pass.”
