Description

Doggie U K9 Academy is proud to present the 2nd Annual ‘Black Tie for Paws’ taking place on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 6pm until midnight.  After the success of last year’s inaugural event the co-owners of Doggie U, Rolissa Nash and Ginny Anziani decided to make this furbulous benefit an annual event.  Complete with a red carpet and ThePuparazzi taking pictures, guests are requested to come in cocktail attire but most importantly their dogs accompanying them should be dressed to the K-9’s! In their best doggie couture if you will.  There will be live music by McMillian Sports & Entertainment, featuring the vocal talents of Priceless & the Kamm Band – who were huge hit last year having the attendees dance the night away!  Guests will enjoy scrumptious food and drinks; amazing raffles; freestyle Disc dog and special amazing trick dog acts performing for the crowd; dog treats, gift bags and the dressed up pups need somewhere to strut their stuff, a runway fashion show of course!  Black Tie attire is requested, and last year’s attendees did not disappoint showing up in tuxes and ball gowns and event the dogs were dressed to the K9’s!

This year’s event will again be a dual fund raiser and the beneficiaries will include Shelter Link and Almost Home Animal Rescue both of which are 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit all volunteer groups, based right here on Long Island who work daily with our local animal shelters, go into communities who need help with their pets and much more.  These two organizations dedicate countless hours of their own lives to make it better for the dogs and cats in the Town of Islip Animal Shelter (Shelter Link) and in the communities in the Town of Babylon (Almost Home).  If it were not for these amazing volunteers, many dogs and cats would not get the socialization, play time, and most important many would never get adopted.  Almost Home works closely in communities to help educate dog owners about the proper care for their pets and provides tremendous support including, food, dog houses, spay and neuter and will even foster and adopt out dogs if the owners decide they can no longer care for their pet.

“With last year’s success, we were able to raise thousands of dollars for each of the beneficiaries of the first Black Tie for Paws, and we were so happy to do so for them as they do such important work in our communities.  The outpouring support of our sponsors, contributors and amazing feedback from all the guest who attended, yes in their Black Tie attire – we could not wait to do it again!” said co-owner of Doggie U, Rolissa Nash.  “We have more in store for this year’s event too – and can’t wait to see what everyone comes dressed in for their red carpet moment! We really are looking forward to this fantastic event,” stated Ginny Anziani, co-owner of Doggie U.

Doggie U is the largest training facility on Long Island, boasting 13,000-square feet, is the home to many different dog obedience, rally and agility shows, pet fairs, and more.  This event will help the effort to bring attention to the wonderful dedicated people of Shelter Link and Almost Home, and will also help people recognize and highlight how important it is to adopt a dog or cat from a local shelter, work with people and pets in your own community.

The ticket price for this event is $65 per person and can be purchased at Doggie U or online at www.doggieuk9.com. Tickets are $75 per person night of the event.  For more ticket information call (631) 968-7972 or email DoggieUK9Academy@aol.com.
Dogs need to be leashed at the event.
