Eastern Long Island Hospital will host a winter blood drive on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 8 am to 5:15 pm in the conference room off the hospital’s main lobby. All donors will receive a $5 gift certificate to the greenhouse grill or the corner gift shop courtesy of the Medical Staff at Eastern Long Island Hospital.
Blood donations are important to the health of your community. Long Island requires nearly 800 volunteer donations a day to serve patients in 50 local hospitals. Hospitals need to maintain an adequate blood supply for everyday emergencies, for patients undergoing surgery and patients with cancer. Each pint of donated blood can help save the lives of up to five people.
