Based on Bill Graf’s years of experience working with book publishers, Art Directors and Authors designing book covers and illustrations from childrens books to Harlequin romance novels, hear what makes a successful cover design and illustration. Bill will explain the process from conception to final how book covers present the author’s story to the public. Whether you are an author or designer or both, learn how you can use this knowledge to apply or enhance the cover designs and illustrations of your own books.
We will also cover self publishing information. Come ready with any questions you always wanted to ask. There will be Q&A time. Bring your own work but remember time is limited.
Bill Graf’s art career started after finishing his art education from SUNY Farmingdale and the prestigious Arts Student League, New York City. He went on to study Old Masters Painting and Drawing in Florence, Italy. Book Cover Illustration became his main source of work; acquiring clients such as Doubleday Books, Thomas Nelson, Penquin Books, Readers Digest, Voice of the Martyrs, Bethany House and his major account of 25 years, Harlequin Enterprises known for their romance book series.
Bill has won awards throughout his career for portiature and book cover illustration. He presently resides in Huntington, NY with his wife of 23 years, Sandra Chiappolini-Graf, a graphic artist. Together, they formed a creative company called WILLIAM GRAF DESIGN GROUP which covers a range of services from illustration, graphic design and photography. www.williamgrafillustration.com
