Date & Time
The North Shore Historical Museum proudly presents a lecture and book-signing by co-authors Harrison Hunt and Bill Bleyer, about their book,
Long Island and the Civil War:
Queens, Nassau and Suffolk During the War Between the States
During the American Civil War more than 6,000 Long Islanders – black and white – answered the call to arms and served in the Union Army and Navy. The new book, Long Island and the Civil War: Queens, Nassau and Suffolk During the War Between the States, by Hunt and Bleyer, explores this fascinating story from the Presidential election of 1860 to the wartime experiences of Long Islanders on the field of battle and at home.
