Put on your Disco shoes, break out your polyester suit, and party down with us as we present the glamor and tackiness of Disco with your host Bill Shelley!

The 1970’s Disco phenomenon brought us the glitter ball, heavy thumping rhythms, Studio 54, and John Travolta’s white suit, and so much more. The music it created endured more than four decades, and its rhythms are still with us today. Between Donna Summer’s orgasmic moaning of “Love to Love You, Baby” in the early 1970’s and The Village People’s proclaiming “Macho, Macho Man,” in the late 1970’s, the “ME” Generation was born. Disco became the perfect middle finger statement against the Recession, Oil Embargo, Nixon and Watergate, inflation, and Donnie and Marie, while the disco fans could become their own stars as they escaped from the noise of politics and daily life. Everybody, even Pat Boone, jumped onto the Disco bandwagon. Disco gave us such people as Yvonne Elliman, The BeeGees, Tavares, Chic, The Trammps, and Lipps Inc. and inspired others to use the Disco style in their own music. This program will include the above mentioned artists and many more!
