A slowed-down, smoothed out jitterbug, Carolina Shag is a swing dance done to rhythm and blues "beach music." Originating in North and South Carolina in the 1930s, this dance looks simple but offers complex combinations of six- and eight-count rhythms with rolling steps and stretching connections. Here's what it looks like when the pros do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90CAxcl0CGY
