Come celebrate the third annual I Love My Park Day at Sunken Meadow State Park! I Love My Park Day is an exciting statewide event to improve and enhance New York's parks and historic sites and bring visibility to the entire park's system and its needs.
All activities: 10 AM - 2 PM
All ages are welcome.
Project 1: Volunteers will work on the park's flower beds by weeding, planting and spreading mulch. Please meet at Main office #1 and bring garden gloves and trowels.
Project 2: Will involve volunteers breaking down and painting barricades and lifegaurd wingstands. Volunteers interested in this event are asked to please bring garden gloves and a snack. Please meet at the Main Office Field #1.
Project 3: Volunteers will put together new picnic tables and make repairs to other tables as needed. Volunteers are asked to please bring garden gloves and a snack with them, and to meet at the Main Office, Field #1.
Project 4: Garbage removal along the shoreline. Participants are not required to bring any tools. Please meet at the Main Office Field #1 at 10 AM.
Project #5: From 10 AM - 1:30 PM, help provide the butterfly garden with some TLC by weeding, planting, seeding and cutting back dead brush. Lunch will be provided! Please dress in work clothes and bring water and garden gloves. This project is appropriate for ages 13 and older. Meets at Parking Field No. 1.
