About the instructor: Annika is a professional dancer, choreographer and instructor, who specializes in
Ballroom dancing, Social Latin dances, Hip Hop, Ballet, Jazz and Pilates. Her career started at the age of nine when she received a scholarship at the world-renowned Opera Ballet Academy of Munich, where she trained extensively in ballet for seven years and performed with the Munich Opera Ballet. By the age of 20 Annika moved to Stockholm, Sweden to train and perform with Sweden’s top choreographers in Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop and Contemporary.
In 2008 she relocated to NYC to continue her training at Broadway Dance Center, and started focusing heavily on Latin dances. She then went on to compete in American Rhythm/Smooth and became a certified Ballroom and Pilates instructor. During her time in NYC she has successfully competed, performed nationally and internationally and worked with choreographers such as
Robert Taylor Jr, Maria Torres, Ashlé Dawson, Luis Salgado, Iveta Lukosiute and Gherman Mustuc to name a few. She has appeared in “Silja Line” TV commercial, “Tv4”, “Dance Spirit magazine”, “Juice Magazine”, “Porsche Design Fashion Show”, “Glamour Magazine”, “Brides Magazine”, New York and New Jersey Fashion Week, “Madame Tussauds unveiling of Bruce Willis” and worked with artists such as Corina, Zelma Davis
(C+C Music Factory), Fragancia (DLG), Jeffrey Iqbal and Vanessa Williams.
Annika has over 10 years of experience teaching students of all age groups in several countries. She is currently based in New York City and has been teaching at Arthur Murray dance center, Broadway Dance center and at public and private schools all around NYC for the past few years.
