The six-piece ensemble, celebrating 25 years, took the name Dervish as it relates to groups of spiritual people, enraptured by music. Since their early beginnings in County Sligo, Ireland, they have recorded 13 albums. Their latest, Thrush in the Storm, was released in the first half of 2013. Dervish’s colorful career has taken them to every corner of the globe and has seen them share center stage with such names as James Brown, The Buena Vista Social Club, Oasis, Sting, REM, Beck and many more.
Adelphi University’s Performing Arts Center is one of Long Island’s premier cultural arts venues for entertainment of all kinds.
