This is an off- trail bushwhack into the far eastern Manorville Hills, an area seldom visited by most hikers; we'll visit some secluded ponds and ramble around the areas low ridges, likely ending up on 295-foot Bald Hill with views towards Peconic Bay; bring lunch and dress appropriately for whatever we run into “off the beaten path”; as usual, hike leaders Lee and George will interpret the lay of the land as well the flora and fauna encountered; call to register as we may have to cap the number of hikers on this one; meet on the north side of C.R. 51 about .6 mile west of Speonk-Riverhead Rd.; we'll shuttle cars to a starting point from there; rain cancels.
