Friends of the Garden City Public Library will sponsor a FREE visual lecture “Color In Your Garden Throughout The Year” with Nassau County Master Gardener Barbara Ann Levine on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 2:00pm at the Library located at 60 Seventh St., in Garden City. Our guest speaker will share her expertise in creating gardens that show colorful flowers during the entire year - including winter! Gain fascinating insights about succession planting. Discover which plants have long blooming periods and how to make them flourish. Learn great tips about planning combinations which change with the seasons.
 
Master Gardener, Barbara Ann Levine, is a past president of the Long Island Horticultural Society and has appeared on TV channels 7 & 12. She has served as a docent at the New York Botanical Gardens, currently gives monthly “Talks & Tours” at Old Westbury Gardens and has been a guest speaker at Hicks Nursery, Clark Garden, Johnson & Johnson, and numerous garden clubs. “Ever since I was old enough to hold a trowel in my hand, I have been a passionate gardener.”
