Description

Please join us as we honor living witnesses to the Holocaust and celebrate their enduring legacies This historic unprecedented event titled, “From Generation to Generation, the Legacy Continues ... Honoring Survivors, Liberators, Righteous Among Nations, and their Descendants.”   will be a multigenerational gathering of Holocaust Survivors, Rescuers, and WWII Liberators. This will be an all-day conference held at, and co-sponsored by, Hofstra University on Sunday, June 8, 2014.  The event will be chaired by Boris Chartan, a Holocaust Survivor, founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center.

We will be welcoming people and institutions from across New York and the northeast including many notable organizations. Some are: the American Jewish Committee, Generations of the Shoah International, 3GNY, Museum of Jewish Heritage, Hadassah, Association of Holocaust Survivors from the Former Soviet Union, American Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors and their Descendants, Jewish Community Relations Council, and Kupferberg Holocaust Resource Center and Archives at Queensborough Community College. The program will consist of noted speakers, discussion panels, educational presentations, films, author and book discussions, eyewitness testimony, and special exhibits. Refreshments will be available throughout the day.  In addition to recognizing and honoring Survivors and educating the public about the history of the Holocaust, we will also be reaching out to isolated and lonely Survivors to offer them a caring network of human services.
