Girl Power in STEM: Be Bold for Change! celebrates women's accomplishments in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Organized by Brookhaven Women in Science (BWIS), Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) and Graduate Women in Science and Engineering (GWISE) we are celebrating the International Women Day on March 4th.  Speakers and panelists from academia, government and private sectors will discuss the impact of women in STEM careers. This year, following the UN call, we are focusing on the impact of women in STEM fields, how can we improve women’s participation, what are the key issues that keep women away from STEM fields and what actions can be taken by individuals and groups to increase women participation in these fields. There will also be parallel sessions during which attendees can participate in either a 'Speed Networking' session where audience members will have the opportunity to have many 3-minute one-on-one conversations with speakers and panelists, a Meet STEM Professionals session where attendees can meet 1-2 professions in small groups, or science demonstrations where attendees can view several STEM demonstrations led by experts in the field.  Lunch will be provided.  Please join us to celebrate International Women’s Day and just a few of the many amazing women in STEM careers!
