Description

The Historical Society of Islip Hamlet presents its new history exhibit "Going Back ... to School! The History of Islip Hamlet Schools".  

From an 1814 one-room clapboard structure fashioned with one running shelf to act as a student writing surface, to the magnificent 1884 towered Monell school, deemed "The Finest School in all of Suffolk County", see the development of the Islip schools through this exhibit that explores the schoolhouses, teachers, and students of yesteryear.  

The exhibit will be at Brookwood Hall History Room.
