There are lots of good ideas about how we should make energy to power computers, tablets, toys, games, lighting and many other things. We could use petroleum-powered generators, solar panels, windmills or batteries. Tonight's discussion focuses on the use of natural gas to provide this energy, and how certain ways of getting it out of underground rocks can be risky to our health and nature. We will discuss a technique called hydrofracturing, or 'fracking', and why this method can be hazardous, and how we, as a community, can influence politcal decisions on this subject. Come for a lively conversation, refreshments and opportunities to meet new friends who are concerned about things like this.
