Date & Time
The museums newest exhibit, “How to Abandon Ship: The Sinking of the SS Robin Moor, 1941,” retells the story of the first American freighter sunk by a German U-boat, a full six months before the U.S. actually entered World War II. Photos, models, and artwork reveal the story of the sinking, the miraculous survival of all passengers and crew despite several weeks in open lifeboats, and how it impacted American attitudes toward joining the war.
Exhibit Runs: May 20, 2016 to March 31, 2017
Museums hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10:00am to 3:00pm, except during Academy vacations and the month of July, when it is closed.
