In the middle of July 1776, the Declaration of Independence was read to the public at Huntington's Village Green. The crowd made an effigy of King George III, hung it from a Liberty Pole on the green, and then set fire to the "King" until the gunpowder-filled effigy exploded.
The free event will include a reenactment of the events that took place on the Village Green. There will also be children's activities. All ages welcome!
