Description

The Playhouse at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 270 Main Street, Northport, NY, presents A Thurber Carnival, a revival of the hit Broadway comedy by the great American humorist James Thurber.

This delightful show will be performed four times only: Friday October 14 @ 8PM, Saturday, October 15 @ 3PM and 8 PM, and Sunday, October 16 @ 3 PM.  Proceeds support local and global ministries of St. Paul's.   Space is limited.  Come see an ensemble of Long Island's best actors bring 48 characters to life in stage adaptations of 13 touching and sassy tales, including “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,” “The Night the Bed Fell,” “The Macbeth Murder Mystery,” “File and Forget,” “The Last Flower,” and original twists on some familiar fables.

The Daily News hailed A Thurber Carnival as “a small, cozy, and completely captivating revue...a sheer delight... joyous, magnificently lunatic festival.”  It’s the battle of the sexes played out (tastefully!) with music and dancing -- fun for all ages.  Directed by Alex Edwards-Bourdrez and produced by Northport Plays, Inc.  With Yank Adler, Alex Edwards-Bourdrez, Annette Kirk, Lee Kurfist, Bobbie Ruth Levy, Melissa Kempton, Michael McKenna, Lisa Rozza Haft, Ravi Tawney, and Nancie Xirinachs.
