A great winter hike through the lovely preserve; walk along the river to the hatchery and back; bring water and food; wear hiking boots; rain or snow cancels; for 8 miles meet 10:30 AM at Lakeland County Park (L.I.E. Exit 58, south on Old Nichols Rd. to Johnson Ave. , left to park); for 5 miles meet 10:50 AM at trail crossing on NY 454, just east of Connetquot Ave.; park off pavement on south side of road and wait inside gate; meeting time of 5 miles is approximate, pending arrival of first group; we'll wait; joint hike with NHOC.
