Children will get a chance to learn some vital skills that not only colonial whalers needed to know, but everyone! They will learn the basics of sewing and a few different types of sailing knots that would have been useful at the homestead, or on a whale ship hundreds of miles from home. This program will take place at the Thomas Halsey Homestead, Southampton's oldest remaining house. Those who come will also get a tour of the property to see what life was like for people living in Southampton long ago.
