Highview is an eight-piece band covering the classic R & B sounds of the sixties all the way on up to the present day. With focus on the “older”, more classic material, they cover artists such as James Brown, Otis Redding, Al Green, Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, Sam & Dave, Stevie Wonder, Buddy Guy, B.B. King and so many others.
Not to be confused with other bands covering the “standards”, 20 Highview opts for the less popular, more colorful and soulful sounds that helped define theses artists as groundbreaking songwriters and musicians. They even cover some of the R & B sounds the late great Jaco Pastorious put together while reuniting Sam & Dave on a song called “Come On, Come Over”, and when he played with Little Beaver on a tune called, “I Can Dig It Baby”. Both tunes having very infectious, funky grooves with bass lines to die for.
