Description

The Youth Empowerment Day is an annual, free, fun day that provides guidance, information, empowerment, and teaches our kids that they matter. It focuses on improving the lives of young people in our community as well as reassuring them that they are invaluable. We aim at discussing topics that affect their lives from obesity, bullying, teen pregnancy, gangs, violence, to increasing their self worth, self esteem, and help them understand the importance of hard work, community service, respecting others and the importance of education.

The educational part of the event consists of various professionals and concerns citizens educating our youths on chosen topic for the year. Such topics include the danger of gangs, drugs, dropping out of school, Bullying, teen pregnancy, and various other topics.

We also have performances by local talents and young upcoming super stars. We celebrate the achievement of the young people that have made a positive contribution to their neighborhood. We also honor adults that have contributed positively in the lives of many youths.
