Extreme heat can cause illness and death among the at-risk population who can not stay cool. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A heat advisory is issued when the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 95 to 99 degrees for two or more consecutive days, or 100 to 104 degrees for any length of time. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the occupational safety and health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Description

Guests will have the opportunity to savor the best of local food, wine and beverages in the gorgeous outdoor setting provided by the Southampton Historical Museum. The Amagansett Food Institute will curate a selection of food offerings showcasing locally grown and produced food and focusing on efforts to bring back the diversity of local foods enjoyed by our ancestors.  Locally grown wheat and other grains, meat and eggs from area farms, locally produced beer, wine and spirits, heritage vegetable varieties, wild fish and game—all are the bounty the East End has to offer.
