South Bay Bible Church announces a fourth Sunday service at 4:00 p.m. starting October 1. The new time helps busy people who are unable to attend on Sunday morning. Church options will now include: Sunday morning at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00; Sunday afternoon at 4:00; and on-line anytime.
South Bay understands how busy people are. There are hectic work schedules, busy weekends, and kids’ sports schedules. So, when it comes to church on Sunday morning, many know they should go, but really! That’s the only morning they can sleep in and catch up.
The church wants to help by providing the community an afternoon choice. “The four o’clock service is designed to help those who work on Sunday morning, for friends who like to stay out late on Saturday night and sleep in, and for the mom that feels more like an Uber driver,” says Martin Hawley, senior pastor.
“It’s late enough to rest up, yet still early enough to eat dinner afterwards, get the kids to bed on time, and still chill out before it all starts over again on Monday,” says Hawley.
There are several reasons for launching this service. First, South Bay wants to reach people they are not currently reaching on Sunday morning. Second, they understand how overwhelmed families can be, and they want to provide another option for people to attend worship. Lastly, they have received many requests from the community for this later service time.
People have asked, “What's different about Sunday afternoon worship?” Well, it's at 4:00 p.m. instead of Sunday morning. Aside from that, there will be no difference. It will be identical to the Sunday morning services. Worship, the same. Sermon, the same. Nursery, the same. Kid’s Club, the same.
“Our goal at South Bay is to bring the Bible to life. It’s a place with warm people, growing relationships, and encouraging messages. This is the reason so many people are responding. It’s life-transforming,” said Martin Hawley, senior pastor. “It’s church like many have never experienced before.”
