"Pastrami on Rye, An Overstuffed History of The Jewish Deli" Lecture & LUnch will be presented at Temple Israel of Lawrence, 140 Central Avenue, Lawrence, N.Y. on Sunday, November 13, 2016, starting at 10:30 a.m. "Pastrami On Rye" is the first full-length history of the New York Jewish deli. The speaker is Ted Merwin, Ph.D., Associate PRofessor of Religion & Judaic Studies at Dickinson College (Pa.), where he is Founding Director of the Milton B. Asbell Center for Jewish Life.
The lecture is open to the public, however space is limited. Cost: Temple Israel of Lawrence Members - $18.00; non-members - $20.00. Kosher deli lunch is included.
