South Bay Bible Church invites all to attend a new 3-part sermon series called “Prepared: Defending Your Faith without Losing Your Mind” that will start on Sunday, August 14 at 9 & 11 a.m.
We've all been there. Somebody makes a derogatory comment about faith, the Bible, or Christianity. You know you should say something. But what? What do you say when there is little time and even less interest?
One of the most frustrating things about being a Christian is those moments when people ask you a question about what you believe or question something you believe, and if you had 15 minutes of undivided attention, you could give an answer. Maybe you would not to convince them, but you could at least leave them with something to think about. The problem is you never get 15 minutes. You get 15 seconds!
In this 3-part series, Pastor Hawley will prepare you to respond quickly and respectfully to any question regarding faith, the Bible, and Christianity. The “Prepared” sermon series includes the following three messages:
• Hope on the Ropes (August 14)
We need a short answer to the question of why we have chosen to follow Jesus.
• Reliable Witness (August 21)
We take the Bible seriously because we take the Gospels seriously.
• Good God (August 28)
Christianity offers both an explanation and a solution for suffering. Suffering is why we believe.
Highlighting the importance of the sermon series, South Bay Bible Church’s Senior Pastor Martin Hawley says, “Prepared is going to give you the answer for the hope that you have in your faith.”
