On the evening of Wednesday, December 7, the lobby of The Holiday Inn Express will be transformed into an art gallery.
The walls will be covered with artwork created by special education students from ESBOCES, P94M a Special Education program from NYC's District 75, located in Battery Park City, Manhattan, and Lockeland Elementary Design Center in East Nashville, part of the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System. As the artwork is purchased and removed, the walls become bare.
“When we have “bare walls”, we will know that the fundraising event was successful,” said Miller. “Each year we explore new ways to bring awareness to autism and raise funds for autism research. We are very excited about this years’ fundraiser.”
Community members will have an opportunity to see how students express themselves through art and learn more about autism by networking with family members and ESBOCES staff at the event.
This fundraising event to benefit Autism Speaks is being co-sponsored by ESBOCES, Gold Coast Bank, The Holiday Inn Express/Stony Brook, and the North Shore Art Guild.
