Description

Southampton Town and eastern Long Island are on the front lines of efforts around the globe to rethink development patterns. In recent years, Southampton has adopted a new sustainability component to its master plan, banned the use of single-use plastic bags, adopted a variety of renewable energy programs, and is currently reviewing a comprehensive new approach to managing its shorelines.

In this interactive presentation, we discuss some of the Town’s recent accomplishments and what the Town needs to do next to best advance regional sustainability.

Advanced reservations are required for all events.

Presenters: Dieter von Lehsten and Scott Carlin, PhD, Co-chairs, Town of Southampton Sustainability Advisory Committee.
