Join Joseph Szabo, a local Amityville resident, for an inside look at his photography.
For three decades, Szabo was a photography teacher at Malverne High School on Long Island and at the International Center of Photography in Manhattan. He has several compendiums published including Almost Grown (1978), Teenage (2003), Jones Beach (2010), and Rolling Stones Fans (2015). Prominent institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum, International Center of Photography,Center for Creative Photography, George Eastman House, and the Bibliotheque Nationale de France acquired his work for their permanent collections, and in 1991 the band Dinosaur Jr. selected Szabo’s tough, cigarette-smoking Priscilla as the cover of their album Green Mind.
