The Safe Center LI will be hosting its annual fundraising Gala, “Every Home A Safe Home” on Wednesday, October 28th from 6 – 10 pm at the Garden City Hotel, Garden City, NY. Monte N. Redman, President and CEO of Astoria Financial Corporation and Astoria Bank will be honored for his commitment and dedication to strengthening our local communities, and the Nassau County Bar Association and its We Care Advisory Board will be presented with the David S. Taub Award for their longtime philanthropic commitment to The Safe Center’s mission. Current sponsors for this event include Astoria Bank as Presenting Sponsor and Cullen and Dykman LLP, Palm Bay International, Steel Equities, Farrell Fritz, P.C., and Vantiv. In addition, Long Island Elite (LIE) has selected The Safe Center as their organization’s 2015 Charity Partner. Entertainment for the evening will be The Mystic featuring Dennis DelGuadio and George Panos known for their performances with the Billy Joel band.
Proceeds from this event support all programs that move forward The Safe Center’s mission to protect, assist and empower victims of family violence and sexual assault while challenging and changing social systems that tolerate and perpetuate abuse. Victims can access a 24-hour domestic abuse and sexual assault hotline, legal assistance and advocacy, crisis intervention, emergency safe shelter, referrals, transitional and permanent housing, individual and group counseling, and hospital advocacy.
