Description

The Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center of Nassau County (HMTC) presents a lecture-presentation, "The Story of Yiddish: The Language of Belonging," by Linda F. Burghardt, Ph.D., scholar-in-residence at HMTC. In this presentation Dr. Burghardt will tell the story of Yiddish from its origins in the Middle Ages to its steep decline after the Holocaust. She will also talk about the enormous literary, musical and scholarly contributions made in Yiddish throughout history.

Dr. Burghardt is a journalist and author from Great Neck, NY, who worked as a freelance reporter for The New York Times for 20 years and is the author of three non-fiction books.
