Born in NYC in 1915, PFC Michael Reilly was orphaned at age 5 and sent to Ireland to be raised by family. Prior to WWII, he entered the Merchant Marines, finally enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1944. During these years he spent many hours painting and drawing, tracing his journey though the collection of art work and poetry he created in the midst of war, immortalizing his life in the art works that he produced. His work will be on display in the Brookwood Hall History Exhibit Room, 50 Irish La, Esat Islip from April 3rd - June 30th. There will be a reception on Sat, Apr. 26, 2-4 pm, serving coffee, tea & cookies. Exhibit hours: Th-Fr: 10-4 pm; Sa-Su: 12-4 pm. For more info: 631/224-5420.
