Fred and Joyce Claar will be discussing their new book, "Values & Ethics-Through a Jewish Lens," on Friday, December 9, 2016, at Temple Israel of Lawrence, 140 Central Avenue, Lawrence. "Values & Ethics-Through a Jewish Lens" empowers parents to bring relevant moral values of Judaism into family discussions. Topics are indexed by themes such as anger, attitude, gratitude, humility and jealousy. Weekly Torah readings and holidays are also indexed with three relevant approaches to each Torah portion.
Fred Claar is currently a board member of the Jewish Education Project, My Jewish Learning and Jewish Student Connection. Fred teaches Jewish issues and texts to high schoolers and frequently teaches school groups from seventh grade through college about the Holocaust at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in N.Y. City. Joyce Claar is a retired special education teacher. She is Secretary of the Westchester Jewish Council and former Chair of Westchester Adult Jewish Education.
