Join us for Volunteer Day at Caumsett to Control Invasive Ailanthus Trees. Ailanthus trees, also known as Tree-of-heaven is a fast growing tree and prolific seeder, which can take over sites, replacing native plants and forming dense thickets. It also produces chemicals that prevent the establishment of other nearby plant species. Attendees will learn and apply the technique of tree girdling to the Ailanthus located within Caumsett State Park. Please wear sturdy footwear.
