Everyone is on a happiness quest, but are you happy? On Sunday, February 5, at 9 and 11 a.m., South Bay Bible Church will begin a new, six-part series entitled, “What Makes You Happy.”
Everyone wants to be happy. Everyone is on a happiness quest. For many, happiness is measured in moments, experiences. It’s elusive. Unsustainable. What about you? What makes you happy? In this remarkable six-part series, Pastor Hawley reveals what makes you happy. He will explore three things all happy people have in common. Then, he will describe how these three things can be realities for you as well.
“The biggest enemy of happiness is relational regret – past actions you can’t go back and undo – but happy people have learned how to have peace with themselves, others, and God,” says Martin Hawley, senior pastor.
In this six-part series, Pastor Hawley will cover the following messages:
• Nothing (February 5): We all daydream about a trouble-free life made possible by something: a dream job, house, car, spouse, child, family, or pile of money. But what if no thing can make us happy?
• Plan for It (February 12): We think we must choose between being happy and pleasing God. Find out what Jesus had to say about that.
• Peace with God (February 19): Peace with God paves the way to peace with ourselves and equips us to make peace with others. Find out the one thing it takes to find peace with God.
• Happy Money (February 26): If your goal is to find happiness, no amount of money will ever be enough. But this one principle can change the way you view money and help you find peace.
• Shoes (March 5): Why are we tempted to make decisions that hurt us in the long run? This message will help you understand the difference between pleasure and happiness.
• You’re Not Enough (March 12): Check out this secret ingredient to happiness. It's so counterintuitive that only people who have experienced it believe it.
