Description

" The 2021 Veterinary Medicine Career Exploration program is open to high school juniors and seniors.

This is NOT a hands-on program. This program includes:

    Veterinarian Shadowing Experience
    Tour of Cornell Cooperative Extension Suffolk County Farm and Education Center: March 6 or March 14, 2021
    Lecture Series on Thurs evenings 7:00-8:45pm at the Ag Hall at the Suffolk County Farm

Lecture topic examples:

    Veterinary colleges and admissions information
    Large & mixed animal practices
    Poultry & production medicine
    Small & companion animal medicine
    Zoo medicine & exotics
    Specializations in: Radiology, Lab Animal Medicine, Emergency Critical Care, Animal Behavior

Student receives Certificate of Completion if requirements are fulfilled (only 1 absence allowed, tour included). Program graduates eligible for LIVMA Veterinary School Scholarship.

Pre-registration is required.
