"The City of Long Beach is pleased to host the 2nd Annual Earth Day in Kennedy Plaza, powered by PSEG-LI, on Sunday, April 22, 2018.  The event will take place in Kennedy Plaza (1 West Chester St, Long Beach, NY) from 12:00pm to 3:00pm, preceded by the Jellyfish Jamboree on the Boardwalk at Riverside at 11:30am. We hope you join us in thinking globally and acting locally!

Here's what you can find on Earth Day 2018:

  • March in the Jellyfish Jamboree - make a sea creature out of recyclables and show off your creativity as we march along the boardwalk. Line up at Riverside on the Boardwalk at 11:30 am, marching to National Blvd and up to Kennedy Plaza for fun and games! All participants will receive a sand dollar, good for discounts at local restaurants and businesses. Awards for best costume will be presented to the most creative sea creatures! All applications must be submitted by April 15, 2018. Click here for the application.
  • Post a photo on Earth Day taking action and use #EarthDayLBNY to be entered into a chance to win a free beach pass for the season! Proof of residency will be required. Creativity & effectiveness will be factored! For ideas, please click here.
  • Check out on-site demonstrations, activities, music, refreshments, & giveaways, including solar installations and arts & crafts.
  • Visit Farmers Market & Arts in the Plaza vendors, as we open the new season with local produce & crafts.
  • Speak with energy efficiency & solar professionals to make your home or business more earth friendly & save on your energy bills
  • Engage with environmental organizations & nonprofits that can help you act locally"
