8th Annual St. Jude Fundraiser - 100% to the Hospital

The Vine Wine Bar to host its 8th annual fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, Event to honor ‘Woman of Courage’ Judy Mione
 
Long Island, N.Y. (March 8, 2019) – The Vine Wine Bar, located at 2259 Merrick Road in Merrick, New York, is welcoming the public to its eighth annual fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, in honor of the late Judy Mione. Mione died in April 2011 after a long battle against breast cancer and was the mother of The Vine Wine Bar owner Lynn Mione.
 
Admission to the event is $75 per person and includes hors d’oeuvres and wine. All proceeds will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
 
Judy Mione, a loving single mother of three, was a longtime supporter of St. Jude who requested donations to the hospital in lieu of flowers or other memorials. Her difficulties in coping with her own disease and her abiding love for children combined to fuel her outrage at the thought of children having to deal with serious health problems. 
 
A source of unwavering support and inspiration to her daughter, Judy Mione also was known for her pioneering efforts on behalf of women on Wall Street, the financial district of New York City. She was one of a small group of women spearheading awareness regarding discrimination and sexual harassment in their industry. She was honored by the National Organization for Women (NOW) as a Woman of Courage in 1997. 
 
In addition to this event, The Vine Wine Bar will be accept donations during the month of April on behalf of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for its pioneering research and lifesaving care.  Because of organizations like these and their generous patrons, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
