The Ellen Hermanson Foundation to Host An Evening of Enchantment on Saturday, July 28th, at the Topping Rose House, Bridgehampton
The Ellen Hermanson Foundation is thrilled to host a gala fundraising event, An Evening of Enchantment, to be held on Saturday, July 28th, 6:30 PM – 11 PM, at the Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton, NY. The Foundation is proud to honor Jodi Wasserman, Member of the Board of Directors of Lucia’s Angels and Coalition for Women’s Cancers at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. The event will feature entertainment by illusionist and mentalist Alex Voz, cuisine by Jean-Georges, dancing to DJ Double S Productions, Mirror Photobooth NYC and more. Jean Shafiroff, noted philanthropist, is the Gala Chair, along with the Host Committee which includes The Ellen Hermanson Board of Directors and Friends of the Foundation. Nicholas Dawes of Heritage Auctions and the popular PBS series, Antiques Roadshow is the Master of Ceremonies for the live auction.
Funds raised at An Evening of Enchantment will underwrite accessible mammography screenings and new state-of-the-art medical equipment at The Ellen Hermanson Breast Center at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital and its satellite locations in Hampton Bays and East Hampton. Through Ellen’s Well, The Ellen Hermanson Foundation provides social worker-led support groups, nutrition, yoga, reiki and other healing opportunities for breast cancer survivors. Programs sponsored by Ellen’s Well are free of charge. No patient is turned away from The Ellen Hermanson Breast Center for lack of insurance or inability to pay for treatment.
In 2018, The Ellen Hermanson Foundation also continues to raise funds to support The Phillips Family Cancer Center at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, which will be the first and only provider of radiation oncology and chemotherapy treatment on the South Fork. “Having local access to state-of-the art diagnostics and treatment will be life changing and life saving for all cancer patients on the South Fork. Last year we made a pledge to fund ten chemotherapy infusion chairs at $10,000 each and we have three chairs remaining to fulfill our pledge this year. We also continue to raise money to
underwrite the latest breast biopsy technology for The Ellen Hermanson Breast Center and to fund Ellen’s Well, our free psycho-social program, said Dr. Julie Ratner, President of the Board of Directors of The Ellen Hermanson Foundation. “The need for access to high quality breast care is great. “The race is on to raise as much money as possible at An Evening of Enchantment and at Ellen’s Run, our signature 23 rd annual 5k Run/Walk event.”
Ellen’s Run will take place on Sunday, August 19 at 9am at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, 265 Herrick Road, Southampton. All are welcome! Advance registration is $35/$25 for seniors and children.
