Art Shamsky, '69 Mets outfielder, will be at Temple Israel of Lawrence, 140 Central Avenue, Lawrence, N.Y., on Sunday, April 7, 2019, to discuss his new book, "After the Miracle, the Lasting Friendship of the '69 Mets." This event is Free and open to the public.
"After the Miracle" is the insider account of an iconic team in baseball history, the 1969 N.Y. Mets, told by '69 Mets outfielder Art Shamsky, Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Seaver and other teammates as they reminisce about what happened then and where they are today.
Art Shamsky was a major part of the "Miracle Mets" who won the 1969 World Championship. During the regular season Art batted .300, and he led the Mets in the NL Playoffs batting .537 vs. the Braves.
Warren Heller of "Living Legends Memorabilia & Collectibles" will be present selling Mets and other sports memorabilia. There will also be a silent auction.
