The Best Buddies Friendship Walk is the leading walk in the country supporting inclusion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Join 40,000 walkers across the country to support the Best Buddies programs in your schools, workplaces and communities. You’ll be making the world more welcoming to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities – one friendship, one job, and one life-changing connection at a time.
This year is the first-ever “Hybrid” Friendship Walk as we celebrate inclusion both virtually and in-person. We will host in-person, entry-timed waves between 9:00am-3:00pm for participants and their teams to join together and pick up t-shirts, take photos, and do a quick walk outside. We are thrilled to return to Marjorie R. Post Park and celebrate in the Gazebo area.
We will also be hosting various livestream and pre-recorded virtual events between 9:00am-7:00pm so that everyone can be included, even from the comfort of their own homes. The official online Opening Ceremonies will go from 11:00-11:30am on Facebook and the virtual Awards Ceremony/After Party will be hosted at 5:00-6:30pm via Zoom.
