Cafe Ablaze, hosted by Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Garden City, opens on Saturday, March 3 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. The Christian coffeehouse and music venue will host praise and worship singer Jeanna Campo, and MiXed Company, a contemporary sacred jazz band.
The Cafe, named for Resurrection's Christian outreach movement, offers elegantly-set tables facing the raised state (where every seat is a good one) and unlimted self-service coffee, tea, and scrumptious desserts.
Onstage will be MiXed Company, the duo of Bill Humphrey and Jessica Rechner, backed by others on keyboard, bass and drums, who will captivate you with their innovative approach to hymns, gospel songs, and original music.
Preceding MiXed Company is Jeanna Campo, a professional singer and composer, who has performed for many audiences and uses her voice for the glory of God. She accompanies herself on piano/keyboard and enchants with her unique prayerful style.
Tickets, sold at the door for $10, include beverages, desserts, snacks, and one raffle ticket toward three door prizes. Children age 12 and under are admitted free with an adult. Pizza, sold to support youth programs, is available at $2 per slice after doors open and before 7:00 p.m. show time. Also separate is a freewill offering collected for the talent.
