"Flash Flood Watch" ...Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon... The Flash Flood Watch continues for * portions of southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey, and southeast New York, including the following areas, in southern Connecticut, Fairfield, Middlesex, New Haven, and New London. In northeast New Jersey, Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic, and Union. In southeast New York, Bronx, Kings (brooklyn), Nassau, New York (manhattan), Orange, Putnam, Queens, Richmond (staten island), Rockland, Suffolk, and Westchester. * From Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon * low pressure approaches the tri-state area tonight and passes through on Thursday. Rain tonight becomes potentially heavy at times Thursday morning with the potential of heavy downpours into early afternoon. A total of 1.25 to 2.25 inches of rainfall with locally higher amounts possible in any stronger convection on Thursday. Flash flooding of urban and poor drainage areas, as well as small streams will therefore be possible Thursday. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued. Maloit , "Wind Advisory" ...Wind Advisory in effect from 9 am to 6 PM EST Thursday... The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 9 am to 6 PM EST Thursday. * Winds...southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * Timing...mid Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon. * Impacts...strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph, or gusts of 46 to 57 mph, are expected or occurring. 11:00am – 4:00pm / All activities are included with a $10 entrance fee / Members and children are free.

Enjoy a Watercolor Workshop for children with Roberta Erlagen, The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party & Storytelling with Jonathan Kruk & Andrea Sadler featuring, Mad Hatter’s Tea with Tales, Silly Skits and the Queen of Hearts will be in the dining room at Coe Hall.

1:00pm, 2:00 pm, & 3:00pm – Magic of Robert Austin in the Great Hall.  Enjoy the magical show and see live animals disappear!  Robert will also suspend someone in mid-air during the show!  General seating, first come, first served, no reserved seating!

There will also be live steel drum music in the Main Greenhouse all day from 11:00am 4:00pm.
